Rebirth 02:58
Sometimes my mind it stumbles I feel it more and more as I grow Mine to hold I see it too as it appears in the theatre of the streets and their fears that show Theirs to own And when the fever spreads to their heads They plead like children for their sweet revenge And like a dream they let is pass instead And I smile, trying to fake a feeling To you I am a moving piece And though you sense a soul inside of me it don’t flow The shadows just for show With all the time that we spent getting to know what was then changing Like a fish, or a day, or a silence Or the words that are departing Though they may fall into circulation They’ll someday whither and disperse A brand new universe Rebirth

The Buzz 04:13
I’m half myself this morning Make a coffee and stare outside Fasten up my boots and ride into town Little compromises make the day Buses sweat the winter snow away I won’t be looking up this morning Cold sun pierces through the clouds Sets a path of hurried crowds into play Little compromises make the day Stacked up in a sacrificial way They’re noones streets this morning Music steals the buzz The quiet, peaceless morning Through the window loose souls slip by Trudging slowly to their hives Little compromises make the day Imminence moulds intention like a clay It’s got me waking up in a daydream Moving through the lists I’ve made could occupy a life mundane Little compromises make the day Buses move like space; rippling away They’re noones streets this morning We’re nobody’s children this morning Music steals the buzz

The sudden downpour drove the streets into panic A layer of fabric from the ones who can't stand it But I think I can stand it and I've got a change of clothes So me and the sky will share a secret the cautious will never know Out in the mountainside we reach for the clouds And the ghosts from the ancient times all hang around They try to bum cigarettes from the tourists But it seems like everyones sorry, and they only have a few more left I want to be liked, but that doesn't outweigh how I want to be right And I guess it's a shame Wanting to be right always feels like the wrong way to live When the evidence points to a truth that has got some give You're far from the city now Drinking and driving with two kids in the backseat Living your lie too Well, I hope that it's airtight, I hope that it fills your lungs And I hope that it carries you on when the water comes...

Reputation 04:50
Your eyes when you go outside Do they see beyond your mind? The hidden kiss in every street The gleam of light that paints the dream When you find yourself completely surrounded Like a camera rolls towards white tape Do you struggle to find your cues? Or do you pull it off as true? And when the liquor pours down your throat Does it lift up words you claim as your own? Or do you see a difference? Some people they can’t see a difference… I want to give myself up to you Because I’m told that’s the noble thing to do But you take and you take and you take And you break and you break me up You know you’re getting a reputation And you know that can’t be good When people talk about you it’s never how you wished they would And when the soapbox comes into sight How can you be certain what you’re selling is right And can you ever truly know yourself until you’ve walked a mile in your own hell That’s the noble thing to do… or we’ll pass it off as an excuse...

Yourself 03:37
Let yourself blink Another rite of passage Alone at your place Roll a joint, take a walk through shuffling cars On a dried up holiday Families holding wrapped up ravages To bore them through the week Cling to a love that knows that love is stronger than most people think You didn’t think about how the decisions that you make Make up the mundane; the slow march of the every day Feed the public delusion or give yourself up; face the rays You’ll die a fountain of dissension Etched into the burned books time erased Came up in a haze Ignored with compliments and orders The world watched how you moved Showered with descriptions Eyes of strangers from the ditches Words become more of you than any of you Trace each thought, each well meaning sage of desperate Lost in tone and scene Give yourself just a little fucking credit Most people will miss, most people they just say shit The biggest part of everything is in the smallest parts combined You’ll be a fountain of jumbled nonsense, drawn up like a god in the public eye Puffed up with last years predictions So on the mark, chilling, strange! Specters of the now surround your throne and you choke on your own grace…

Into the day 04:00
Into the day Unrelenting Struggling to define a purpose Cosmic symphonies sing storms with unseen strings that derail old illusions Just a piece has floated within my reach It feels like home, it comes in fragments of belief Try to speak but the words feel brittle Every step too predetermined I saw hope at every depth Just tunneling to a new abstraction Through the throats of shaky visions Buried all but resolution Powerlines reach up above us A banner for our botched rebelion I saw you there when the fire started With a look that gave me no illusions I can’t see beyond this defeat To a world that gladly reaches its hands right through me Try to speak but the words feel weighted Every step too predetermined I saw you there when the fire started with a look that gave me resolution I can’t dream beyond this defeat To a world that reaches straight for the teeth To a town I trust to ignore me when times are sweet I can’t speak, I can’t breathe with your feet shoved through my teeth Into the day Unrelenting Trying to find your creation The weight of the world underneath your feet has a love that grants you no abstractions You flutter between the ribs of the streets With a sight Don’t you know; it’s going to give you away

When our path was one we dared to dream Of a love beyond luck and the truces we demean And we lived those days in the fullest way Walking without the weight of the world we’d have to face But I find myself writing songs lementing wars that haven’t come Feel like something went terribly wrong but I can’t point to what it was We were so beautiful then, so tell me truly did it ever end? I was told how to know if it’s then, but it’s so much less clear than how they pretend In the thrill of it all I don’t know myself And I can’t account for the hell that I am bound In the fragile snow of the exiled soul The beauty always knows to say the things people don’t Like it’s not a terrible night It comes on quick, it’s easy to find Sometimes darkness makes everything light You find what you missed, corrupted by right I am the first to admit I didn’t know you like I thought I did We fill in gaps when we’re kids to secure the home in which we’ve been hid We do it all for the love we must abandon so we can look up But know it’s a poisonous love It starts with a drop, and that’s never enough To say either way if we made it all up, it’s not worth saying, we’d have done it either way To say either way if we drank it all up

Out of love and spiraling to a crash Wonders tangled around my legs and neck Did you care that I... ? Did you notice that I…? I was too afraid to ask. Show me all the colours in the sky Across every possible moment of your life Smeared and blurred into clumsy shapes that you draw a line around And we clap It’s hard to know the perfect time to laugh Buried under the tension of the forth act Did I fit what you said you wanted me to? Did I change it for the better, like I hoped I was born to do? I think I’m ready for the curtain I think I’m done watching you sit Pay my tab and walk and block out all of the sounds of the traffic Cars parading each royal runway Stretched and splitting up the land Each played lunging forward towards a bow If they can only stick the landing And when I head to my apartment will their heads remain in place For the next traveling salesman who is hungry enough to face them
